CERTIFIED
e-Stewards Certification is an electronics recycling and reuse standard and accredited certification program designed to enable companies to proudly demonstrate that they do things the right way. eForce is proud to work with Perry Johnson Registrars who act as our certification body. The e-Stewards Standard was developed by members of the environmental community who are leaders in the recycling and asset recovery businesses and experts in data security, worker protection and certification.
The e-Stewards Standard certification is awarded to service providers passing the world’s most rigorous and independently conducted audits and performance verification for electronics reuse, recycling, and data security services. The Standard requires stringent testing of devices prior to their sale for reuse, and forbids the export of e-waste to developing countries. To ensure accountability of processors, e-Stewards is the only standard in the world that not only requires rigorous annual audits, but conducts random unannounced inspections, and routinely places unannounced GPS tracking devices into its member processing streams to verify proper downstream management.
e-Stewards is the most valuable certification because it is most actively monitored. Improper handling of used electronics can cost millions in fines and remediation expenses under environmental and privacy laws. Further, e-Stewards also requires verifiable data erasure to protect all client confidential data, with requirements that meet or exceed any other standards.
The certification is only awarded to the highest performing and highest integrity electronics processors.

There is a little secret that may surprise you: to properly handle and demanufacture electronics requires a PA DEP permit in the State of Pennsylvania. Anything less means your equipment will not be handled locally and there is a good chance it will end up overseas. eForce is one of a select few organizations that has permitted to perform electronic recycling services in Pennsylvania.
