ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY
eForce Compliance is committed to maintaining holistic conformance with the e-Stewards Standard and all requirements of our Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) management system. We are equally committed to meet or exceed our customer requirements, to continually improve our processes, to prevent pollution and work place injuries and illness, and to maintain compliance with applicable legal requirements and with other requirements to which eForce Compliance subscribes, which relate to our environmental and Stewardship aspects. The goal of eForce Compliance’s operation is to have a positive impact on the environment through responsible recycling practices that includes the conservation of metals, plastic and other non-renewable resources. Consistent with these core operations, it is eForce Compliance’s overall goal to accomplish its business objectives while meeting and exceeding the environmental and health and safety expectations of all interested parties: management, employees, customers, suppliers and regulators.
We will continually improve our system while striving to minimize adverse impacts on the environment by managing used and end-of-life electronic equipment, components and materials—with respect to both on-site activities and the selection of downstream vendors—using a “reuse, recover, dispose” hierarchy of responsible management strategies.
In addition to the above statement, eForce Compliance is committed to:
The prevention of exports of Hazardous Electronic Waste (HEWs) throughout the Recycling Chain which violate international laws, treaties, and agreements,
The prohibition of forced or child labor throughout the Recycling Chain;
The prohibition of prison operations throughout the Recycling Chain that involve incarcerated individuals handling HEWs or Customer Data; and:
Are subsidized by government (directly or indirectly),
Involve the likelihood of risks of release or misuse of Customer Data, or
Do not provide workers with the same rights as private sector workers to protections from exposure to toxics.
Social accountability values within eForce Compliance consistent with the principles of SA 8000;
Providing the framework for establishing and reviewing environmental, occupational health & safety, and data security objectives and targets;
Preventing of pollution;
Ensuring that these policies are appropriate to our operations, and its potential environmental impacts and health and safety risks;
Ensuring that this system and policies are communicated and understood by all persons working for or on behalf of eForce Compliance;
Is available to the public;
Encourages all Downstream Processors to operate consistent with the principles of SA 8000; and
Ensures that this EH&S policy is documented, implemented and maintained.
We recognize that the responsibilities for protection of the environment and worker health and safety are shared, requiring cooperation between all interested parties: employees, their supervisors and top management. eForce considers the wider global impact of all of our activities, complies with all relevant regulations of the countries’ national laws of import and export for equipment, components , or aspects that pass through our facility or control. eForce Compliance will continually improve its environmental performance through responsible recycling practices. This will include setting goals, taking into consideration our business, financial, operational and legal requirements as well as the views of all interested parties. Top management is committed to the effectiveness of the EHS Management System by establishing policies and objectives; providing training and education; promoting a culture of continual improvement; and measuring outcomes.
